Social Media — When Likes Turn to Need 

This first half of this workshop examines the prevalence of social media use among youth, the neurobiology of addiction, the marketing of social media, and the impact on the developing brain. The second half of this workshop provides information on how to use social media safely, dangerous behaviors such as sexting and cyberbullying, how to know when a youth is at risk, how to mitigate these risks, recommended parameters, and ways to re-engage and reconnect with our youth

Compassion Fatigue: Exhausted not Broken — Resources and Self-Care

The helping field has gradually begun to recognize that workers are profoundly affected by the work they do, whether It is by direct exposure to traumatic events, secondary exposure, working with clients that are chronically in despair, witnessing people’s inability to improve their very difficult life circumstances, or feeling helpless in the face of poverty and emotional anguish.

Mindful Practice for Direct Support Professionals

In this Mindful Practice for Direct Support Professionals session, participants will learn about the unique needs, sensitivities, and vulnerabilities that can impact people as they engage with Réseau Compassion Network’s organizations. We’ll explore the short-term and long-term impacts of stress for people who access health and human service and how mindfulness and mindful practices can help us all nurture people’s confidence and comfort in the experiences they have with us.

Short Course – Mindful Self-Compassion (Winter session)

The Short Course – Mindful Self-Compassion combines the skills of mindfulness and self-compassion, providing a powerful tool for emotional resilience. In this six-week class, you will learn some principles and practices of mindful self-compassion, so you can better relate to and care for yourself, both physically and emotionally. Registration is available on a sliding scale.
